How this stays accurate
Sending someone to a shelter that's full or a number that's disconnected does real harm — so accuracy is the whole point, not an afterthought. Here's the approach:
- Every resource is tied to an official source — county, food bank, or the provider's own page — with the date it was last checked, shown on each card.
- An automated check runs on a schedule and flags anything broken — a dead link, a page that's moved — so a human knows to re-verify. It never silently rewrites a phone number it isn't sure about.
- Hours and availability change — especially shelter beds and pantry days — so the app always nudges you to call ahead and confirm.
